Renfrew
Currently, I am employed with a long term care facility located here in Renfrew, Ontario as a CASUAL employee. For the past 6 years, I have worked in their environment department and the outlined duties extend far beyond housekeeping. On occasion, I have been called in to the laundry department to replace due to illness or whatever reason. CPR, GPA, Food Handling Course, Fire Safety with lifts and carries are a few in house updates required by most nursing homes.
I also served as a bartender and waitress for 9 years in an establishment located in Arnprior. At that time, I was never required to obtain the smart serve certificate. However, if there was an employer interested in hiring me for this, I would be glad to get it as it is the law, now.
In 2002, I acquired the MS Office Suite and improved my typing speed to over 80 wpm.
I had the sincere pleasure of working for Vermont Casting on Hall Avenue here in Renfrew for 2 1/2 years. I operated several types of machinery in their pre-assembly department. To be honest, the biggest disappointment was the day this plant closed. Still wish this factory existed here.
